The memory palace method is extremely useful but that doesn't mean you should always use it. Believe it or not but the memory palace method does have some problems! You need to know the right times to apply the techniques or else you just make more work for yourself!

Summary:

Using memory techniques take effort to apply, and you probably aren’t at the level where you can automatically apply them. Think about how long for you to effortless talk or read! If you are trying to learn or read for fun, don’t use memory techniques because you have to stop and think about what technique you need to use, what images you need to create, and what info you want to remember. In this situation, memory techniques take you away from just reading for fun and having a leisure time.
